Book Release About the King's Own!

On May 1st, 2025. Patrick H. Brennan, a military historian, released his book called “Onward: The King’s Own Calgary Regiment in Peace and War, 1910–1960”. His book tracks the regiment prior to the First World War tracking is evolution through till the Cold War. Each chapter follows the regiment’s soldiers through numerous battle honours such as Vimy Ridge, Amiens, Dieppe, and Ortona. His work captures the citizen-soldiers who answered the call in service of Canada before self during war and their return home. 


While much of the book has its focus on the regiment at war, Brennan also details the post-War realities for The King’s Own Calgary Regiment (RCAC) saw many changes to its strength, role and equipment.
