The King’s Own Calgary Regiment Marks A Change of Command

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, The King’s Own Calgary Regiment (RCAC) mark

ed a change of command as Lieutenant-Colonel John Fisher passed command to Lieutenant-Colonel Christopher (Chris) Bradley.

Colonel Kyle Clapperton served as the reviewing officer for the ceremony. The regiment was also honoured to be joined by our Honorary Colonel, Linda Southern-Heathcott, and Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel, Ravinder Minhas, for this important occasion.

The regiment extends its sincere thanks to LCol Fisher for his leadership, and hard work over the past three years. Commanding a regiment is a significant commitment, and we are grateful for the time and effort he has devoted to The King’s Own and its soldiers. As he concludes his tenure, we thank him for his service and wish him every success in his next chapter.

As we recognize LCol Fisher’s contributions, we warmly welcome LCol Bradley as our new Commanding Officer. Since joining the Canadian Armed Forces as an Armour Officer in 1989, his career has taken him from tank troop leadership in Germany to operational deployments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he served in both rifle company and reconnaissance squadron appointments. At the Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre in Wainwright, Alberta, he led the planning of Exercise MAPLE GUARDIAN 0701, involving approximately 7,000 soldiers preparing for operational deployments, and later commanded the opposing force supporting major collective training exercises. He subsequently served as a squadron commander with Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) and deployed on Operation PODIUM in support of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. His career has also included brigade headquarters appointments, service at the Royal Canadian Armour Corps School, and instructing on the Army Operations Course at the Canadian Army Command and Staff College. Having served in the Primary Reserve with the South Alberta Light Horse before joining The King’s Own, LCol Bradley brings experience across both Regular Force and Reserve environments. We look forward to the perspective he brings to the regiment as he assumes command.

Please join us in thanking LCol Fisher for his three years in command and welcoming LCol Bradley as he takes on this new responsibility.

ONWARD!
