The Ladies Group is an informal organization made up of spouses, fiancées, and girlfriends of serving members of all ranks of the Regiment. The main emphasis is on support and fellowship. This is an open group and we love to have new ladies join at any time. Some ladies attend many events and some just a few, so feel free to come and go and attend those meetings that interest you the most. To join the group, or get more information, please email the Webmaster. Ladies will be packing care boxes on November 14th at 11am for the deployed soldiers. Please contact the webmaster at the link above for details on the location. Deployment news Very shortly we will be having nine soldiers from the Regiment departing to go oversea on deployment to Afghanistan. Our thoughts are with them and their families as the embark of this difficult time of being away from home and friends. We wish them success in their efforts serving the nation and look forward to hosting them at a Regimental homecoming BBQ in the new year. Bride's Dinner 2009 Every year in the October timeframe the officers hold a traditional dining year to recognize the new bride of the Regiment among the officers and thank their spouses for their support. This years dinner will be held October 23rd, 2009 at the Mewata Garrison Officer's Mess, invitations will be send out shortly. Remembrance Day This year the Regiment will be at The Military Museums (formerly the Museum of the Regiments) just of Crowchild Tr and Flanders Avenue. New Baby The Regiment would like to congratulate Matthew and Julie Gow on the arrive of their new baby boy, Brodderick.

On 15 February 2007, the Government approved the regulations that created the pension for the Reserve Force. The pension come into effect on 1 March 2007. Below is information that members can access to learn about the pension benefit, as well as some links required if members have been given the option to pay for past earnings. 1. Overview: The Canadian Forces Personnel Newsletter Issue 5/06 dated 24 May 2006 has a good overview. The newsletter can be viewed online here. 2. Buyback Calculator: Download the instructions (.pdf document here) and go to the RFPP Home page located here. Follow the instructions in the Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) document and determine the total cost to buy back prior service. As detailed on the elections page, you must gather the required documentation and send the results of hte calculator to Pension Services. Be aware that the calculator will provide an estimate for general guidance only, and that all information will have to be verified by Pension Services.

Deadline: If you have the option to buy back prior service, you have one year from the date that you are given notice by letter, or three years from the date that the pension came into force. You will not have the option to elect again. The letters giving notice to elect were to be mailed beginning in April 2007.
