1910 to 2010 - Centenary Update

Current projects in planning

Book on Regimental History

The Regiment and Museum have engaged a local historian to research and write a historical work about the Regiment.  This is being done as part of a academic research project in partnership with the University of Calgary.  Progress is going well and anticipated release is in late 2010 or 2011.

Logo design and kit shop

The Regiment was solicited to submit designs for a Centennial logo.  Two were received and it is expected that the Centennial committee will chose one of these to further develop on October 6, 2009.  Once the design is ready it will be used for select kit shop items located in the Calgary Highlander kit shop at Mewata.

Calgary Soldier's Memorial Wall

This is a joint effort with the City of Calgary and other Reserve Regiments to erect a monument to display and remember the names of all soldiers from those units who have fallen in war and on operations in the service of the nation.  A fundraising campaign is underway and a link will be provided here soon to allow you to make a donation if you wish.  This sub-committee is led by the Calgary Highlanders and the King's Own are active participants
